Selling a Probate Home
What If the Probate House Is Full of Belongings?
This is one of the most common situations in probate, and it is very manageable. A home packed with a lifetime of belongings does not have to slow down the sale.
A workable order of operations
- Photograph and make a rough inventory of anything with real value.
- Let heirs identify keepsakes, and distribute them only after appointment.
- Sell valuable items through an estate sale or auction if the heirs agree.
- Donate usable goods and haul away the rest with a clean-out service.
The estate can generally pay for the clean-out, and in some cases we can market the home while a clean-out is scheduled. We have a network of estate-sale and clean-out professionals across San Diego County and can coordinate the whole process so you are not doing it alone.
