A workable order of operations

• Photograph and make a rough inventory of anything with real value.
• Let heirs identify keepsakes, and distribute them only after appointment.
• Sell valuable items through an estate sale or auction if the heirs agree.
• Donate usable goods and haul away the rest with a clean-out service.
